| | Merit Badges are used by the Boy Scouts to help scouts increase
their
skill in an area of personal interest.
There are over 100 merit badges available.
Of this group, three badges, Electricity, Electronics, and
Computers are in the IEEE field of interest.
The IEEE emeritbadges.org Project is developing instructional
material that can be used by global students – boys and girls, scouts,
merit badge counselors, science & technology educators and the general
public. The program can be
used to enhance technical literacy and to provide information about viable
engineering and other technical career options.
