2005 Jamboree emeritbadges.org Alum Preparing for Engineering Career
When Scout Adam Gross of Ocean, New Jersey, took Electronics Merit Badge at the 2005 Jamboree, he liked it so much he’s now majoring in computer engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Gross has returned for the 2010 Jamboree as an Assistant Scoutmaster and is advising his scouts to check out IEEE emeritbadges.org’s Electronics and Electricity Merit Badge booths on the Midway.
“I’ve always been into computers,” Gross says, recalling his Jamboree IEEE emeritbadges.org experience. “We really didn’t have this kind of thing at home. This is definitely one merit badge I wanted do here at the Jamboree.
“It’s great to take Electronics here because it’s taught by professionals. It’s a better learning environment because it’s taught by IEEE,” says Gross, a member of the IEEE student chapter at Johns Hopkins.
