Assistant Electronics Merit Badge Instructor
This part-time position will assist the primary instructors at the
Electronics Merit Badge Booth at the 2005 National Scout Jamboree.There
will be four one hour classes from which the volunteers can choose. Most
part-time volunteers should be able to volunteer for at least two days
during the Jamboree and all volunteers will need to attend a training
session prior to the Jamboree. All volunteers will need to submit
information required for a background check by the BSA and take Youth
Protection Training. At least a dozen positions will be available every
day of the Jamboree.
Assistant Scheduler
Scheduler at the 2005 National Scout Jamboree. Duties include This
part-time position will assist the Electronics Merit Badge Booth
registering scouts for the Electronics Merit Badge classes, answering
questions from scouts and the general public on the requirements of the
Electronics Merit Badge.
First Jamboree Good Turn Habitat House in 2005
Five-day blitz build at Jamboree needs adult Scouters in MD, VA, and D.C.
area to commute daily during build and work subsequent August weekends to
complete house at its Ruther Glen, VA location.
Schedule:
- July 25 and 26-Build floor system for shell. Minimum age to wield a
hammer-16 yrs./Power tools requirement is 18 years of age.
- July 27-29-Build house shell. Frame exterior/interior. Siding.
Roof.

- July 30-Aug. 2 House gets moved to location and placed on foundation
in Caroline County. Don't know about volunteer requirement during these
days.
- Subsequent weekends in August- All aspects of new construction work
done-wall boarding, painting, landscaping, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Age requirement to be on Habitat house site-14 years of age. We have
stretched that downward in the past for landscaping, however.
- And there's always "go-for"ing jobs for the 14 year-old who can't
hammer yet, but can carry materials.
